Maserati has given a new lease of life to the MC20 with an all-new supercar: the MCPura. While the heart of the two cars is the same, the Italian marque says the differences lie in their exterior design, materials, and interior finishes. The MCPura is available in two body styles: Coupe and Convertible (named Cielo). It was shown at the Goodwood, adorned in an eye-catching Ai Aqua Rainbow paint. This blue shade, available in matte for the Coupe and glossy for the Cielo (Convertible), shifts hues in the sun to produce a rainbow display, reminiscent of a prism. Maserati also offers a variety of other colour options for the supercar.

The Trident logos on the MCPura (on the grille and rear pillar) and the side badging feature a magenta colour with shimmering blue flakes. This same hue is also used for the center logos on the wheels, which have a special darkened, diamond-cut finish.

Maserati states that the elements are glossy on the Coupe and matte on the Convertible for a contrasting look.

Other design highlights include a flatter grille and a wider grille (at the base), adjusted front splitter, more rectangular air intakes below the headlights, and restyled bumpers, butterfly doors, and retractable glass roof (MCPura Cielo). The supercar appears to feature all-new alloy wheels.

Inside, the most striking feature of the MCPura is the Alcantara Ice seats. The seats feature a laser-etched Trident logo. They have double-sided, iridescent backing, shifting from red with blue to blue with red. The laser etching also gives the design a 3D effect. Other than this, the supercar's interior is largely the same as its predecessor.

The new MCPura features a carbon-fibre body that makes it highly stiff and light, keeping its weight under 1,500 kg. It has a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine that churns out 621bhp and 720Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. There's also an F1-derived pre-chamber combustion system with twin spark plugs.
