Mercedes AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ launched in India, priced at Rs 2.45 crore

Mercedes Benz India has launched the EQS 53 4MATIC+ in India, at a price of Rs 2.45 crore. It is the first all-electric sedan from the German carmaker for India, and is the electric equivalent of its most known model, the S Class.

The EQS 53 comes with plenty of goodies like the AMG Dynamic Plus pack and rear-axle steering.

The Mercedes AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ has been launched in India. It is available in only one variant which has been priced at Rs 2.45 crore (Ex-showroom). The EQS is the first vehicle from Mercedes Benz that is built on the company’s new EV-only architecture.

The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, giving it AWD capabilities. The total output of these motors is rated at 751bhp/1020Nm with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, and with that output, the AMG EQS can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a restricted top speed of 250km/h.

Mercedes is offering a 107.8 kWh battery pack with the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ and it supports fast charging at up to 200 kW, meaning you can top up the batteries with up to 300kms of range in just 19 minutes. The 10 to 80% charge can be done in 30 minutes using a similar charger. AC charging is also supported using a 22kW charger. As far as the range goes, Mercedes says that the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ has a WLTP range of 526-580kms. Mercedes-Benz is also looking to set up its own charging network in the country, and they aim to be the largest OEM charging network in India by the end of 2022, and Mercedes-Benz owners will be able to charge their cars free of cost till the end of 2023.

As far as features go, the Mercedes EQS AMG 53 4MATIC+ is equipped with more than you can fathom. There is air suspension, rear-wheel steering, the MBUX Hyperscreen touchscreen, 21- or 22-inch AMG wheels and brake energy recuperation.

The Mercedes EQS AMG 53 4MATIC+ will be built in India, and as such, it has no real rival in the Indian market.
