Mercedes-Benz has revived its GT moniker in India with the launch of the GT 63 and its more powerful sibling, the GT 63 Pro, priced at Rs 3 crore and Rs 3.65 crore (introductory, ex-showroom), respectively. The models come with the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system and the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8; however, the Pro variant packs more muscle. The GT 63 and the GT 63 Pro are underpinned by the same platform found in the Mercedes-AMG SL 55. They pack significant enhancements with a longer wheelbase, short overhangs, and a streamlined yet muscular design. The deliveries for the AMG GT 63 will commence in December, while the more powerful GT 63 Pro will begin to roll out from January 2026.

The Coupe will lock horns with the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, which is priced at Rs 2.84 crore (ex-showroom). Here’s everything you need to know about the GT 63 and its more potent sibling, the GT 63 Pro.
The powerful V8 engine in the new AMG GT models delivers different performance outputs. The GT 63 produces 577bhp and 800Nm, while the more powerful GT 63 Pro delivers 604bhp and 850Nm. Both variants are paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In terms of acceleration, the standard model can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The Pro version, on the other hand, can cover the same distance in 3.1 seconds.

The GT 63 reaches 200km/h in 11.4 seconds, while the Pro variant trims that down to 10.9 seconds. Top speed stands at 315km/h for the standard GT 63 and 317km/h for the Pro.
The new AMG GT 63 is larger than its predecessor. It is 182mm longer, 45mm wider, and 66mm taller, and has a longer wheelbase of 70mm. The Coupe’s design is unmistakably AMG, with sculpted bodywork, a prominent Panamericana grille, slender LED headlamps, as well as, narrow, wraparound taillights that emphasise its wide stance. The standard colour options include Sun Yellow Solid, Selenite Grey Metallic, High-Tech Silver Metallic, Obsidian Black Metallic, and Spectral Blue Metallic.
When it comes to the GT 63 Pro, the powerful variant comes with bodywork updates that are said to decrease front lift by 30kg and boost rear downforce by 15kg, compared to its standard counterpart. These upgrades include a tweaked bumper at the front, carbon-fibre side sills, and a carbon-fibre rear wing. The model also boasts improved engine cooling. It features lightweight alloys and upsized brakes.

One of the most notable upgrades in the new GT 63 is the addition of 2+2 seating, a big shift from the previous generation, which was strictly a two-seater. There are several common elements with the India-based Mercedes-AMG SL 55, such as a 3-spoke steering wheel and sport seats for the front occupants.
