It has been more than 3 years since Morris Garages (MG) launched the Gloster in India. Following its India debut, the three-row SUV received a few mid-life updates to the exterior; but now, the car is getting a facelift, most probably for the model year 2024. Recently, the test mule of the camouflaged Gloster has been spotted testing in heavy camouflage in India. Despite that, there are a few details that are partially visible.
According to the spy shots, a redesigned rear end, including a new bumper, tail-lights, and repositioned reflectors, are on the cards. As for the sides, the car seems to feature diamond-cut alloy wheels, side steps, and door-mounted outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Other noticeable bits are the dual exhaust tip, rear wiper with washer, roof spoiler, and integrated high-mounted stop lamp. However, there is an absence of roof rails available with the existing version.

Although the front profile is not visible in these images, expect the facelifted version to get newly designed headlights, grille, as well as an updated front bumper. Besides, the cabin is also likely to feature a few changes in the form of an updated dashboard, new upholstery, and a revised feature list. The current version comes packed with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 12-way power driver seat with a massaging function, and an ADAS safety system. It also has a 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As far as the powertrain goes, there is a tweaked powertrain option with better performance expected. The existing iteration, meanwhile, is offered with a BS6 Phase II-compliant diesel engine. Its 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, diesel engine is offered in 2 states of tune – a turbo-diesel version and a twin-turbo unit. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine is capable of producing 161bhp of maximum power and 375Nm of peak torque, while the twin-turbo engine churns out 215bhp and 480Nm. For transmission, the SUV uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
