The India-spec MG Majestor has made its debut, with prices set to be revealed in April. MG is touting it as India’s first D+ segment SUV, and has opened its bookings for a token amount of Rs 41,000. MG will offer the chance to get behind the wheel of the new Majestor through test drives from April, while official deliveries are slated for May. The Majestor recently debuted as the MG Rakan 4x4 in Kuwait and other Middle Eastern markets. In India, it marks MG’s entry into the high-end three-row SUV segment, rivalling key models like the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner. Here’s a closer look at the MG Majestor’s key highlights, design, performance, and features.

The flagship SUV of MG looks aggressive and modern. As a badge-engineered version of the Maxus D90, the Majestor retains much of its design. The front fascia boasts a large matrix-style grille, sculpted bonnet, a rugged bumper, split-style headlamps, and LED DRLs in horizontal and vertical layouts. From the side, the MG SUV looks sporty, with protective cladding, chrome-trimmed side steps, and 19-inch alloy wheels (higher-spec trims). The key rear highlights include taillamps with a connecting light bar, bumper with dual exhaust tips and a rugged skid plate, and a prominent Majestor lettering.

MG is offering the new Majestor with Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash colour options.

MG has given a dual-tone theme to the Majestor's cabin and added soft-touch materials for a premium feel. Buyers have the option to choose from a 6-seater layout with middle-row captain seats or a 7-seater configuration with a bench. The second-row seats can fold or slide for easier access. MG has taken care of practicality in its flagship SUV with amenities such as charging outlets for all three rows, cup holders, and storage pockets. The 343-litre boot expands to 1,350 litres with the third row folded.
In terms of features, the Majestor SUV gets a gesture-activated tailgate, powered, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless smartphone connectivity, and i-Smart 2.0 connected-car tech, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, an auto-tilt function for the outside rearview mirrors, and a tri-zone climate control system with separate third-row vents.
As for safety, the MG SUV has electronic stability control, six airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, and Level 2 ADAS.
The MG Majestor is equipped with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo engine that churns out a peak power output of 212bhp and 478Nm, and is mated to a ZF 8-speed torque-converter automatic. It offers on-demand 4WD combined with M-Hub’s 10 terrain modes, M-Crawl function, low-range transfer case, and three locking differentials.
MG has announced an exclusive introductory offer for the first 3,000 customers who pre-book the SUV. This includes 5 years of roadside assistance, a 5-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, and a 5-year labour-free service package.
