JSW MG Motor India has dropped the first teaser of the upcoming Majestor SUV, and it already looks ready to step into the big-league SUV space. Set to launch in India on February 12, the Majestor will become MG’s new top-end model and is aimed straight at the Toyota Fortuner. The teaser focuses on the front section, showing a wide blacked-out grille, sharp right-angled LED DRLs and a three-piece lighting setup that gives the SUV a proper road presence. A silver skid plate sits at the bottom, hinting at its size and stance. With its tall nose and bold detailing, the Majestor looks built to make an impression even before the full reveal.

The Majestor made its first appearance at last year’s Auto Expo and is based on the Maxus D90 sold in international markets. For India, MG has given it a refreshed look and a more premium positioning. It will sit above the MG Gloster in the lineup, making it the brand’s flagship SUV. Pricing is expected to begin around Rs 40 lakh, while the Gloster currently retails between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 42.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
From the design side, the Majestor carries a more squared-off and upright look. The front features vertically placed LED headlamps with slim DRLs positioned above them.

On the sides, the SUV rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and gets thick cladding with silver inserts along the lower body. The rear design continues the tough theme with blacked-out elements, roof rails and a wide stance.
The MG Majestor is expected to focus heavily on tech. The cabin is likely to get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered and ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control and a premium sound system. On the safety front, features such as ADAS, multiple airbags, electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera are expected.
Power is expected to come from MG’s known 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This motor is expected to deliver 213bhp and 479Nm of torque in the Gloster and is paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. An all-wheel-drive setup is also expected, keeping the Majestor ready for long highway drives and occasional rough-road use.
Once launched, the Majestor will take on rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in India.
