MG has revealed the Majestor as the more premium and expensive sibling to the Gloster. While both SUVs share the same ladder-frame platform and the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, the Majestor sets itself apart with a refreshed exterior design, a more upscale cabin, and additional features. It is also a bit larger than the Gloster in terms of width and height, though the wheelbase remains the same. As MG’s new flagship SUV, the Majestor seeks to strengthen the brand’s position in the full-size SUV segment. Here, we compare the Majestor and Gloster across key aspects to help you make an informed choice if you’re deciding between the two.

The Majestor looks more rugged and has a more imposing stance than the Gloster. Its gloss-black grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and darker accents contrast with the Gloster’s brighter chrome elements and more traditional layout. MG has also equipped its new flagship SUV with a fresh set of alloy wheels and additional side cladding.

The rear portion has also seen a few notable updates, such as new LED taillamps connected by a full-width light strip, ‘Morris Garages’ lettering, and dual-tipped exhausts.

Similar to the exterior, the cabin of the Majestor has been reworked to feel more modern than the Gloster’s. While both SUVs continue to offer 6- and 7-seater configurations, the black-and-brown theme on the Gloster is replaced by an all-black one with subtle silver highlights.

In terms of features, the Majestor steps ahead with a 12-speaker JBL sound system, serious off-road hardware package, and powered and ventilated front seats with heating and massage functions. The bigger SUV also offers dual 12.3-inch displays. It features a steering column-mounted gear selector.

The MG Majestor carries forward the 2.0‑litre twin‑turbo diesel engine from the Gloster’s 4x4 variants, producing around 212bhp and 478Nm. It also uses the same ZF 8‑speed automatic transmission and offers similar drivetrain layouts, including rear‑wheel drive and four‑wheel drive.
