Mini has launched its first-ever ICE-powered Countryman in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 64.9 lakh, after opening its bookings last month. The model comes in John Cooper Works (JCW) guise, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It boasts a sportier appearance, similar to its electric JCW counterpart, with several unique design elements compared to the standard model.
These include a blacked-out grille with the signature checkered-flag pattern, a front bumper accented by prominent air intakes with red highlights, a JCW badge on the C-pillar, and alloy wheels featuring red brake callipers. Other highlights include red-tinted roof and exterior mirrors, a roof-mounted spoiler, red decals on the hood, and dual twin-tip exhausts.
In terms of competition, the Mini Countryman JCW Pack doesn’t have a direct rival in India. However, the sportier Mini SUV could be an alternative to the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine in the Mini Countryman JCW produces 296bhp of maximum and 400Nm of peak torque.

Mini claims that the sporty SUV accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
Similar to the exterior, the Mini Countryman JCW continues its sportier character inside, with an all-black interior highlighted by red accents on the dashboard and seats. It includes sporty pedals and JCW-themed graphics on the infotainment screen.
Key features include a 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control with rear vents, and electrically adjustable front seats with memory.

For those unaware, Mini had already launched the Countryman Electric with the John Cooper Works Pack in India earlier this year for Rs 62 lakh. The exclusive electric SUV was limited to only 20 units. The introduction of the ICE-powered Countryman JCW further strengthens the SUV's range in India and caters to the needs of performance car enthusiasts who still prefer the thrill of a petrol engine. It also enhances brand appeal while carving a stronger niche in the premium compact SUV segment in the market.
