LEXUS LM TEASER

Lexus will showcase the new LM at the 2023 Shanghai Motor Show on April 18. Before the debut, the brand released a teaser of the model. According to the image, it seems that the exterior of the upcoming LM has undergone considerable improvements. The LM, a rebadged version of the Toyota Alphard, was launched as an MPV in 2019. Now after four years of its initial release, Lexus is gearing up to bring the replacement for its minivan. It will be the first time that the new luxury minivan will be sold in Europe; up until now, it has only been available in a few select Asian regions, like China. There is no update regarding the launch of the model in our market. However, market reports claim that it will mark its entry into India later this year. Let's know about the new LM, which is said to feature heavy improvements over the standard version.

New Lexus LM: What to Expect?

The outgoing version of the Lexus LM is available with a 3.5-litre petrol engine and a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine. The former delivers 291bhp, and the latter boasts an output of 150bhp. The 2.5 litre engine comes linked to a (141bhp) electric motor on the front axle, producing a combined output of 194bhp. It also included a second 66bhp rear-axle motor, giving it all-wheel drive. According to industry reports, the petrol-hybrid powertrain will remain in the new LM.

Dimensionally, the outgoing model has a length of 5,040mm and may seat seven or four people. The version, available with the four-seat configuration has a large screen for the rear passengers. The upcoming LM model is anticipated to be offered in 4- and 7-seat configurations, similar to the current version. Both seating configurations will employ 'AdaptiPedic' memory foam in the rear seats and include reclining chairs with massaging features.

Design-wise, the next-generation LM, will reportedly mirror the new design language of the Lexus RX and NX. But it might still have the folding rear doors and be more luxurious than ever.
