The new-gen X-Trail has been showcased for the global market as part of Nissan’s future mobility roadmap. The MPV, also referred to as the Rogue in select markets, comes equipped with the brand’s latest hybrid technology. It also features improved efficiency and a more mature design. Alongside the new Nissan X-Trail, Nissan has unveiled the third-generation Nissan Juke in an all-electric avatar. While the X-Trail in India is offered with a single 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system, the Juke EV is not currently available in the Indian market.

For the new-generation Nissan X-Trail, Nissan has stuck to a tried-and-tested SUV design, prioritising practicality and a commanding road presence. The front is dominated by a robust blacked-out panel that seamlessly integrates the geometrically styled grille, headlamps, and signature hexagonal DRLs. The look is complemented by a striking side, which has an upright silhouette and a distinctive C-pillar kink. The rear stands out with a sturdy bumper and LED taillamps.

The interior of the all-new Nissan X-Trail has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to see an important upgrade in terms of features and upholstery.

The biggest transformation in the new X-Trail comes in the form of Nissan e-Power. In contrast to traditional parallel hybrids, this setup in the Nissan X-Trail follows a series-hybrid approach. The petrol engine acts only as a generator, supplying energy to a small battery that feeds the motor powering the wheels.
Currently, the Nissan X-Trail sold in India comes equipped with a mild-hybrid system that provides limited support to the engine. It does not feature the more advanced Nissan e-Power seen offered on global-spec versions. The India-spec model focuses on efficiency rather than offering electric-only mobility. For now, Nissan has not made any official announcements regarding introducing the new iteration of X-Trail with the latest e-Power System in the market.
