Skoda has introduced the second-generation Kodiaq in India, bringing a host of updates that set it apart from its predecessor. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the new Kodiaq features sharper design elements, revised dimensions, and a more modern interior layout. It now measures longer and sits lower than before, contributing to a sleeker stance. Under the hood, it gets a more powerful 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with an updated seven-speed DSG and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The cabin has been overhauled with new technology, including a 13-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a premium Canton sound system. With its enhanced features, performance boost, and refined design, the new Kodiaq takes a significant leap forward over the outgoing model.

The 2025 Kodiaq is offered in two distinct variants – the premium Laurin & Klement (L&K) and the sportier Sportline – priced at Rs 48.69 lakh and Rs 46.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. This marks a notable increase over the previous generation, which was earlier available at a starting price of Rs 39.99 lakh.

The second-gen Skoda Kodiaq ushers in a bold new direction for the SUV, moving away from the more understated styling of its predecessor in favour of a more futuristic and premium aesthetic. Though the signature butterfly grille remains a focal point, it now features a distinctive light bar running through it, contributing to a modern look. The sleeker LED headlamps and a reprofiled front bumper further enhance its forward-looking design.

From a side perspective, the redesign is more restrained. Apart from newly styled 18-inch alloys and a mildly ascending window line, the overall profile closely mirrors that of the outgoing version, maintaining its familiar proportions.

Around the rear, however, the overhaul is more apparent. The previous model’s smooth, minimalist layout has been replaced with a sportier rear end, emphasised by a reworked bumper and a full-width LED taillight arrangement, which lends a connected appearance.

The SUV’s dimensions have also been subtly reworked. At 4,758mm, the new Kodiaq is 61mm longer than before. The wheelbase remains static at 2,971mm, but the width has been trimmed by 18mm to 1,864mm, while the height now stands 17mm lower at 1,659mm.

Customers will also benefit from an expanded range of alloy wheel sizes, now spanning from 17 to 20 inches.

The interior of the all-new Kodiaq has also been thoroughly modernised, embracing a refined, clutter-free layout that emphasises both luxury and functionality. Interior styling is tailored to each variant – the upscale Laurin & Klement variant showcases a sophisticated black-and-tan theme, while the sportier Sportline version features a uniform all-black finish to underscore its athletic persona. The centre console has been reworked for better practicality, with the gear shifter now repositioned behind the steering wheel to open up space. One of the standout upgrades is the Smart Dial system – a trio of multifunctional knobs located beneath the main display, designed to simplify control over climate settings, media, and other in-car functions.

The technological enhancements are equally compelling. Taking centre stage is a high-resolution 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital driver display and an advanced head-up display for key information projection. Comfort and entertainment have also seen a substantial boost – front seats now offer heating, ventilation, and a massage function, while sound is delivered through a crisp 14-speaker Canton audio system. Additional convenience features include wireless charging, seamless smartphone connectivity via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB-C ports, and a large panoramic sunroof that enhances cabin ambience.

New Skoda Kodiaq vs Old Model: Powertrain

Under the skin, the powertrain sees an upgrade. While the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine continues, it now produces 201bhp – up from 187bhp – though torque stays the same at 320Nm.
