Magnite Kuro

Nissan India has pulled the covers off the two new versions of the Magnite – the EZ-Shift and the Kuro Edition. The Magnite EZ-Shift gets an AMT transmission paired with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, making it an affordable alternative to the turbo-petrol CVT. Now, this AMT unit will be offered across the model lineup – XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium. As for the special Kuro edition version, Nissan has given the Magnite the Black Edition treatment. On the outside, the new Kuro Edition gets an all-black colour theme, featuring a black front grille, blacked-out headlamps, and black roof rails, save for the red brake callipers as well as 'Nissan' and 'Magnite' badges. Other blacked-out elements include the skid plate, door handles, and alloy wheels. Besides, the vehicle also receives a special 'Kuro' badge on its front fender.

Similarly, the interiors are offered with an all-black treatment on the dashboard, roof liner, door trims, floor mats, door handles, AC vent surrounds, steering wheel, and so on. Apart from this, the Magnite Kuro Edition also comes equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, wide IRVMs, 6 speakers, a centre console armrest, rear AC vents, and a wireless charger.

Underneath the skin, the special edition receives two engine options – a 1.0-litre NA petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the non-turbo petrol engine cranks out 71bhp and 96Nm of peak torque, while the turbo-petrol version pumps out 99bhp and 160Nm and is connected to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. This version is available only in a single top-spec XV variant.

Magnite EZ Shift

Whereas, the Magnite EZ-Shift is powered by a sole 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill. On offer is an AMT transmission. Prior to this, the Magnite was offered only with the CVT gearbox mated to a turbo-petrol engine. The Nissan Magnite is offered across 4 variants and comes in 5 monotone and 4 dual-tone colour options.

Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition, EZ-Shift: India Launch Details

As of now, the Nissan Magnite ranges between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the AMT version to command a premium over the manual version. The prices of the EZ-Shift and the Kuro Edition will be announced on October 13, 2023. Prospective buyers can make their reservations for the Kuro Edition at an initial amount of Rs 11,000, with deliveries scheduled to commence after the launch.

In the Indian market, the Nissan SUV competes against the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Kia Sonet, the Mahindra XUV300, the Hyundai Venue, the Toyota Urban Cruiser, and the Tata Nexon.
