Nissan has officially revealed the Tekton SUV, signalling a major addition to its line-up for the Indian market and setting its sights firmly on the competitive mid-sized C-segment SUV space. Positioned against strong rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Tekton draws clear styling inspiration from Nissan’s flagship Patrol. The Tekton’s profile highlights its SUV identity through smooth body lines, flared wheel arches, functional roof rails, and newly designed alloy wheels.

The Tekton’s India debut is targeted for mid-2026, around July or August. Ahead of this, Nissan will roll out a seven-seater B-segment MPV in early 2026, followed by another seven-seater SUV in early 2027.
Its exterior features a boxy silhouette, a trapezoidal grille with twin chrome bars, and a centrally placed Nissan emblem. The front styling is completed by C-shaped LED headlamps integrated with a slim daytime running light strip. Nissan describes the Tekton as a practical, versatile SUV suitable for varied conditions, aiming to blend everyday usability with strong street presence to appeal to urban and outstation buyers alike.

At the rear, C-shaped LED tail-lamps are connected by a full-width light bar, while protective cladding on the bumper adds to its practical design detailing. These styling elements have been chosen to create a balanced look that communicates capability without overly relying on decorative flourishes. Underpinning the Tekton is the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, also used in the latest-generation Renault Duster. For India, this platform will undergo extensive localisation, with a large share of components sourced domestically to enhance cost efficiency and production viability.

Manufacturing will take place at Nissan’s Chennai plant, serving both Indian and selected export markets, in line with the company’s broader push to expand operations across key global regions.
Nissan has yet to reveal the engine options for this SUV but the Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that a hybrid variant is planned for the future, potentially sharing technology with the upcoming third-generation Renault Duster, aimed at meeting growing consumer interest in more fuel-efficient vehicles.
