Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Automobili Pininfarina took the wraps off the Battista Anniversario all-electric hypercar. Expected to enter production before the end of the year, only five examples of the Anniversario will be made.

Automobili Pininfarina pulled the wraps off the Battista at the Geneva Motor Show in March last year. To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the Italian-design firm has revealed the Battista Anniversario. Hand-built in Cambiano, Turin, the all-electric hypercar is priced at €2.6 million (Rs 21 crore approximately), and only five units of it will be built.

Speaking about the Anniversario, Michael Perschke, CEO, Automobili Pininfarina, said, "For 90 years, the Pininfarina name has been at the forefront of automotive design and performance, and the Battista perfectly encapsulates these values. This ultimate expression of Battista, the Anniversario, is the distillation of everything that the brand has stood for in the past and which we now strive for in the future, creating a new pinnacle of desirability for sustainable and luxurious electric cars.

The Battista Anniversario is the culmination of the Italian design of the past and the future. Take for instance its livery. Washed in grey, the bottom part of the car is reminiscent of Pininfarina’s older models. The blue and white pinstripes make the Anniversario look sporty. This limited-edition hypercar is entirely hand-painted, which takes three weeks. Continuing the colour scheme inside, the steering, floor mats and the upholstery also get blue accents.

In comparison to the pre-production model that was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the Anniversario gets a redesigned steering wheel and a repositioned charging port. This special edition model also features what Pininfarina calls the Furiosa package, which adds a front splitter, side blades, and a larger air diffuser.

Powering the Anniversario is the same 120kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that gives it a driving range of 450kms. Thanks to the 1,877bhp and 2,300Nm that the Battista makes, it is capable of doing the 0 – 100km/h dash in just under 2 seconds, which is faster than the Bugatti Chiron.
