Rolls-Royce has entered the Indian electric car market with the highly-anticipated—Spectre. Positioned between the Phantom and the Cullinan in the manufacturer's lineup, the fully electric two-door coupe costs Rs 7.50 crore (ex-showroom) in India. It features two electric motors and a 102kWh battery that produces 576bhp in total. The Spectre is a spiritual successor to the Phantom Coupé and is built on the Rolls-Royce 3.0 platform. It has an emphasis on electrification and connected technology. This third iteration of the platform is 30 per cent stiffer than previous Rolls-Royce automobiles, made possible by revolutionary engineering and aluminium components. The flexible construction allows for a smoother underfloor profile in addition to low seating positions and an enticing interior.
On the design front, the Spectre has the biggest Rolls-Royce grille ever—the Pantheon grille—installed up front. With 22 meticulously lit LEDs, it is aerodynamically efficient. In addition to being aero-tuned, the Spirit of Ecstasy has a bonnet that swoops down to the grille, in contrast to the standard Rolls-Royce, which has a flat, upright front. With its combined drag coefficient of 0.25, all these components make it the most aerodynamic Rolls-Royce ever.

A nod to the Phantom Coupe, the split-headlamp design has ultra-slim LED DRLs high placed and a main headlamp cluster below, which, although initially appearing dark conceals headlight housings made of darker chromium that resemble jewellery boxes. Moreover, from the A-pillar to the luggage compartment, the largest single-body panel ever built for a Rolls-Royce accommodates the tail lamps. The vertical tail lamps have no colour and are shaped like gems. In addition, the Spectre boasts 23-inch wheels—a first for a two-door coupe in production in almost a century.
Mechanically, the Spectre is powered by a 102kWh battery pack that powers two electric motors. The rear motor is tuned to crank out 482bhp of maximum power, while the front axle-mounted motor delivers 254bhp. The model collectively makes 576bhp of maximum power and 900Nm of peak torque. Besides, the luxury carmaker states that the vehicle can reach 100km/h in 4.5 seconds and has a 530-kilometre driving range on a single charge.
The car has a 22kW AC and 50kW DC charging capacity, with a maximum of 195kW. While the latter two require 95 minutes and 34 minutes, respectively, to fully charge the car, the former takes more than five hours.

The cabin of the new Rolls-Royce Spectre boasts a starlit headliner, a fully digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, lighted door panels and a dashboard on the passenger side. There are also some customising choices accessible.

In terms of technology, the Spectre has SPIRIT, a system that manages car operations and interfaces with the Whispers app. Despite the Spectre's 2,975 kg weight, the Planar suspension system, with its advances in hardware and software, guarantees a smooth and elegant ride.
