Skoda has reduced the entry price of the Kodiaq in India with the launch of a new 5-seater variant, the ‘Lounge’. The new Kodiaq Lounge variant, priced at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), is now the most affordable option in the range, undercutting the 7-seater Sportline (Rs 43.76 lakh) and L&K (Rs 45.96 lakh) trims by up to Rs 6 lakh. It distinguishes itself with a more streamlined feature set while maintaining the same core design. For example, the new entry-level model features a smaller 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, compared to the 12.9-inch unit found in higher variants. It also forgoes several premium features, including a 360-degree camera, intelligent park assists, the Canton premium sound system, driver drowsiness detection, an illuminated grille, and the virtual pedal function for the electric tailgate. However, despite the lower price, it doesn’t compromise on essential features, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit, and the intuitive Smart Dials for multi-function control. As for safety, the SUV is well-equipped with 9 airbags and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems.
The new Kodiaq Lounge variant offers a well-rounded package, comprising 18-inch alloy wheels, complemented by matte dark chrome exterior accents, 3 exterior colour options (Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey), and Grey Suedia fabric upholstery inside. It also includes a panoramic sunroof and rear sun blinds, and Skoda’s signature smart dials.

Other convenience and comfort amenities include a three-zone climate control, cruise control, selectable drive modes, multiple USB Type-C ports, and a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel.
Mechanically, the model is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, featuring four cylinders that produce 201bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque, and is mated 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that channels power to all four wheels through a standard all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
