Skoda recently took the wraps off the new entry-level variant of the Kushaq Facelift, called the Classic+, at a media event held in Jaipur. The new Classic+ trim sits below the Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo trims in the lineup. Despite its entry-level positioning, it offers several exterior styling cues from higher variants while offering a well-rounded feature set. It also introduces an automatic transmission option at the base level. Here’s everything you need to know about the Kushaq Facelift Classic+ automatic.

The entry-level trim of the Skoda Kushaq doesn’t skimp on modern exterior features, and offers projector headlamps, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, and a single-pane sunroof. It also comes equipped with roof rails, ORVMs with turn indicators, connected LED taillights, a rear defogger, a washer, and a wiper.
With the facelift, Skoda Auto has updated the SUV’s design with a wider butterfly grille and a slender light strip. The higher-spec and sportier Monte Carlo version highlights its edge with blacked-out styling, red highlights, and a contrasting roof.

Inside, the Skoda Kushaq Classic+ features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (smaller in size than higher variants), an analogue instrument cluster, and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. It also sports manual air conditioning with rear AC vents. As for safety, the base trim packs in six airbags, traction control, ESC, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX mounts.
The new Classic+ variant of the Skoda Kushaq has the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which can now be had with both manual and automatic transmission options. Unlike the earlier Classic base trim, which was limited to a 6-speed manual, the new Classic+ adds the option of an automatic gearbox right from the entry level.
Overall, the SUV continues with its familiar turbo-petrol lineup, including the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre units. Interestingly, the 1.0-litre engine now gets a new 8-speed automatic transmission in place of the older 6-speed unit. It produces 113.4bhp and 178Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre engine delivers 148bhp and 250Nm, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
