Skoda Rapid Edition 2018 launched at Rs 10.96 lakh

The Skoda Rapid gets yet another special edition variant.

Skoda has launched a new variant of its Rapid, called the Edition 2018. This new variant remarkably resembles the Rapid Monte Carlo edition which was launched last year.

The Edition 2018 Rapid is based on the top-spec Style variant of the car and is priced between Rs 10.96 lakh - 13.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new edition is available in only two colours - red and white - both of which are accented with black to grand the car a sporty vibe.

The Edition 2018 gains black accents on the headlamps & tail lights, blacked out rear view mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels and black rear spoiler. The black theme from the outside continues on the inside as part of the standard kit as the all-black cabin sports contrasting red stitching on the seats and steering wheel. Also standard is cruise control and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay integration.

Mechanically, the Edition 2018 continues to be powered by the same petrol and diesel engines from the standard Rapid. So, there is a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol good for generating 104bhp and 153Nm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that makes 109bhp and 250Nm.

Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, automatic transmission options are also available on the Rapid. The diesel is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch while the petrol gets a 6-speed torque converter.

Skoda is also offering four year warranty and maintenance of the vehicle. The car is available at an interest rate of 4 per cent per annum or an EMI of Rs 12,999 along with zero downpayment. However, this offer is valid only for a limited period of time.
