Suzuki has pulled the wraps off the new Across plug-in hybrid for Europe, and if the shape looks familiar, that is because it is closely tied to the Toyota RAV4. The SUV continues as part of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership, with the Across using the same plug-in hybrid setup and core structure as the RAV4 PHEV. It will sit in the mid-size SUV segment and come only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain for European markets. For buyers who want a hybrid SUV with the option to drive on electric power for daily runs and switch to hybrid for longer trips, the Across remains Suzuki’s main offering in this space.

It also helps the brand meet emission targets in Europe while keeping a petrol engine and all-wheel-drive layout in the mix.
The design sticks close to the RAV4 but carries the Suzuki identity at both ends. The front gets a Suzuki grille and badge, while the headlamp and bumper layout stay in line with the donor SUV. From the side, the stance, roof rails and wheel design look familiar.

At the rear, Suzuki branding sits on the tailgate, and the overall shape remains unchanged. The size and proportions stay the same, which means it continues as a mid-size SUV with a high seating position and a five-door layout.
Like the RAV4, there is a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and physical controls for key functions. The layout is simple and easy to use, and there is seating for five.

The rear seats fold to free up more boot space when needed. You also get hybrid system displays and drive mode controls on the centre console, along with driver assistance features and smartphone connectivity.
Power comes from a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with electric motors. The engine itself makes 140bhp and 226Nm of torque. The setup sends drive to all four wheels through an electric all-wheel-drive system. Combined output is around 301bhp, and an e-CVT gearbox handles power delivery. It is the same system used in the Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid, so performance and efficiency figures stay in line with that SUV.

Suzuki claims an electric range of about 75 km under WLTP testing. The SUV can run in electric mode for city drives, while the hybrid system supports longer trips. The plug-in hybrid setup gives it a top speed of 180 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds.

The new Suzuki Across will continue in Europe as part of the brand’s electrified SUV line-up. It keeps the Toyota link alive and offers a plug-in hybrid option for buyers who want an SUV with electric driving capability and all-wheel drive. More details on availability and rollout in different markets are expected soon.
