Suzuki has revealed its lineup for the upcoming Japan Mobility Show, and the Flex Fuel concept of the Fronx instantly caught our attention. Although the technical specifications are under wraps for now, the concept maintains the familiar silhouette of the standard model. It distinguishes itself with subtle yet noticeable design elements such as yellow decals along the bonnet, doors, and sides. Beyond these small visual tweaks, the design remains identical to the petrol-powered Fronx. In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx starts at Rs 6.85 lakh and competes directly with rivals like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, while also serving as an appealing alternative to the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Suzuki hasn’t revealed the specifications of the Fronx's flex-fuel powertrain yet, but it is expected to use a reworked version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine seen in the Wagon R flex-fuel concept. This unit will support ethanol blends of up to E85. In India, the standard Fronx comes with two engine choices. The first is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit producing 89bhp and 113Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or an AMT.

The second option is the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine that delivers 99bhp and 147.6Nm, paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter.

In addition to the Flex Fuel Fronx, Suzuki will showcase a range of forward-looking concepts at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show, scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 9 at Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba. Key highlights include the Vision e-Sky BEV, and the e-Every concepts. The display lineup will also feature the Spacia, the updated X-Bee, and the e Vitara, Jimny Nomade (a 5-seater version of the made-in-India Jimny).
