Tata Motors has debuted the comprehensively refreshed 2025 Altroz, marking the first major update to the premium hatchback since its launch in early 2020. Set to hit the market on May 22, this latest iteration boasts a more dynamic exterior, a tech-rich cabin, and feature upgrades designed to sharpen its competitive edge in India’s highly contested hatchback segment. The facelift introduces a range of visual enhancements, including newly styled split LED headlamps, a reshaped grille, a continuous LED light bar at the rear, and flush-type illuminated door handles that improve both aesthetics and aerodynamics. Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned with a cleaner dashboard layout and additional features. Despite these updates, the Altroz is expected to retain its current engine lineup – petrol, diesel, and CNG – maintaining its rare position as the only diesel hatchback still available in India.
The model is available in five distinct variants – Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S – and comes in a vibrant selection of colours such as Royal Blue, Ember Glow, Pure Grey, Pristine White, and Dune Glow.
The updated Altroz now boasts a reworked front with a fresh grille and new twin-pod projector LED headlights equipped with DRLs. The bumper has been redesigned to appear more dynamic, featuring a larger air intake and updated LED fog lights. It also sports new 16-inch alloy wheels and introduces front door flush-type illuminated handles, a segment-first offering.

At the rear, the Altroz now features connected LED tail lamps and a revamped bumper, with the reverse light relocated beneath the number plate. Retaining its predecessor’s design, the new Altroz continues to offer 90-degree opening doors, providing easier access for passengers.
As mentioned before, the Tata model continues with the same engine options as its predecessor, offering a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an optional factory-fitted CNG unit, along with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, it remains unclear whether the new model will include the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine featured in the Altroz Racer.
The 2025 Altroz's cabin has been refreshed with a new beige upholstery scheme. The dashboard receives subtle refinements, such as ambient white lighting, an illuminated steering wheel, and glossy black elements. The Altroz facelift is outfitted with dual 10.25-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and another for the instrument display. The air conditioning system now utilises touch-based controls, and the automatic variants feature an updated gear lever. Other notable additions include wireless phone charging, connected car features, automatic climate control with rear vents, push-button start/stop, cruise control, an air purifier, ambient lighting, and a single-pane sunroof.
Safety remains a top priority, with ISOFIX child seat mounts, six airbags, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard. The higher-spec variants bring additional safety features like iRA connected car technology, customisable AudioWorX sound modes, a 360-degree HD camera, a wireless charging pad, blind spot monitoring, and an SOS calling system.
