Tata Motors claims the improved warranty boosts long-term EV value, with estimated savings of Rs 8–9 lakh in running costs over a 10-year ownership period.

Tata Motors has introduced a major update to its EV ownership package by offering a lifetime high-voltage (HV) battery warranty, valid for 15 years with unlimited kilometres, on the Curvv EV and Nexon EV (45kWh). The company had initially rolled out this lifetime battery coverage with the Harrier EV. This benefit, available to new customers and first-time private owners, replaces the previous 8-year warranty and directly addresses concerns around battery life and replacement costs. According to Tata, the enhanced warranty improves the long-term value proposition of its EVs, with estimated savings of Rs 8 to Rs 9 lakh in running costs over a decade. To further incentivise upgrades, existing Tata EV owners are being offered a Rs 50,000 loyalty bonus. The move supports the brand’s broader push to make EV ownership more attractive through better long-term value.

Commenting on the newly introduced warranty plan, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, 'By democratising premium EV technology, we have played a significant role in advancing India’s EV category’s exponential growth. One of the key factors behind this growth is the ability to instil confidence amongst customers for a worry-free ownership experience. Today, we are proud to extend this feeling even further with the introduction of the Lifetime HV Battery Warranty solution for all customers of the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45kWh. By offering this unprecedented assurance, we are enabling a truly carefree, future-ready ownership journey for every TATA.ev buyer.'

The Tata Curvv EV features a liquid-cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMS) and is offered with two battery choices: 45kWh and 55kWh. Power output stands at 148bhp with the 45kWh unit and increases to 165bhp with the 55kWh pack, while torque remains constant at 215Nm for both versions. The 45kWh battery is available in Accomplished, Creative, and Accomplished+ S variants, whereas the 55kWh option can be had in Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A trims. On a full charge, the smaller battery offers a driving range of up to 502 km, while the larger one delivers up to 585 km.
