The all-new Tata Harrier EV enters India’s growing electric SUV market, adding serious competition to a segment already featuring strong players like the Mahindra XUV 9E, Tata Curvv EV, and the ever-popular Nexon EV. While the Nexon has long dominated with its value-packed offering in both ICE and electric versions, the Harrier EV aims to appeal to those looking for a larger, more premium electric experience. To help buyers decide, we take a closer look at how the Harrier EV stacks up against its smaller sibling, the Nexon EV.
The Harrier EV has made its debut with a starting price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it in the premium mid-size SUV segment. However, Tata is yet to disclose the complete variant-wise pricing. In contrast, the Nexon EV remains a more affordable option, with prices ranging from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh for the top-spec Red Dark Edition, making it a more accessible choice for budget-conscious electric car buyers.
In terms of dimensions, the Tata Harrier EV stands as the larger and more spacious SUV when compared to the Tata Nexon EV. Designed as a mid-size SUV, the Harrier EV measures 4,607mm in length, 2,132mm in width, and 1,740mm in height, with a generous 2,741mm wheelbase.
On the other hand, the Nexon EV, being a compact SUV, measures 3,994mm in length, 1,811mm in width, and 1,616mm in height, with a shorter wheelbase of 2,498mm.

These differences make the Harrier EV more suited for buyers seeking extra cabin space, road presence, and a more premium feel.
The Harrier EV offers two battery options—65kWh and 75kWh. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version produces 235bhp from a single motor, delivering solid everyday performance. For those wanting more, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant steps up with a dual-motor setup: the front motor generates 156bhp, while the rear remains at 235bhp. Together, they offer a 504Nm of peak torque. What makes it even more appealing is the impressive claimed range of up to 627 kilometres (MIDC).
Tata also offers its Nexon EV with two battery pack options: 30kWh and 45kWh. The 30kWh version delivers 128bhp and 215Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 275 kilometres (MIDC Part I+II). The larger 45kWh pack boosts output to 142bhp while maintaining the same torque, and extends the range to an impressive 489 kilometres.
Both Tata SUVs come packed with modern tech and comfort features, but the Harrier EV takes a more premium approach. It stands out with a larger 14.5-inch QLED touchscreen sourced from Samsung, offering a richer visual experience and Dolby Atmos surround sound for immersive audio.
The Nexon EV, while more compact, still impresses with a 12.3-inch touchscreen in higher variants and a nine-speaker JBL sound system. It also offers wireless charging, ventilated seats, and vehicle-to-load support.
