Tata Motors has rolled out the first major update to the Punch EV since its launch in 2024. The updated electric SUV now features new battery pack options, an increased range, and exterior styling inspired by the ICE-powered Punch. Bookings are now open, with deliveries set to commence soon. In a first for Tata Motors, the facelifted Tata Punch EV comes with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, making the electric SUV significantly more affordable. Under this new ownership model, prices start at Rs 6.49 lakh, while battery usage is billed separately at Rs 2.6 per kilometre. Here’s a closer look at everything new on the updated Punch EV.

Compared to the previous version, the new Tata Punch EV looks cleaner thanks to a grille with a closed-off finish. The black trim that previously connected the headlamps is no longer part of the design, while the faux silver skid plate now features a textured finish.
The EV features 16-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels. It gets updated connected LED taillamps (similar to the ICE-powered Punch). As for colours, buyers get three new options with a contrasting black roof.

Inside, the facelifted Tata Punch EV keeps most things of the previous model, but adds a lighter dual-tone theme. Key comfort and safety features include a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘Tata’ logo, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist, high beam assist, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.
The Tata Punch EV now offers a 40kWh LFP battery pack, providing a real-world C75 range of around 355 kilometres and an ARAI-certified range of 468 kilometres. It produces a maximum power of 127bhp, marking an increase of 6bhp over the 121bhp output of the previous LR version of the EV. The 0-100 acceleration time of this version stands at 9 seconds.
A new 30kWh version is also available. The facelifted Tata Punch EV now supports 65 kW DC fast charging, which allows the battery to go from 20% to 80% in 26 minutes. A 15-minute top-up can provide an additional 135 kilometres of range.
Compared to the outgoing model (Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh), the new Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh (with BaaS) and goes up to Rs 12.59 lakh. It is now Rs 30,000 more affordable at the entry-level compared to before, while the fully loaded, bigger battery version is Rs 1.85 lakh less expensive. All prices are ex-showroom.
