Tata Motors has given us an early look at the Punch EV facelift, and the first thing that stands out is the revised front. The grille now has a proper closed-off finish, which suits the EV character better and improves aerodynamics. It’s a small change on paper, but it makes the front look tidier and a bit more grown-up. The scuff plate design is slightly different, adding a fresh touch without changing the overall shape that buyers already know. The Punch EV still keeps its upright stance and compact proportions, but these updates help it feel current.

Tata Motors will launch the updated Tata Punch EV in India on February 20, 2026. The update comes soon after the facelifted petrol Punch arrived with a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The electric Punch has been on sale since 2024 and is currently priced from about Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It remains one of the more affordable compact electric SUVs on sale, and this update should help keep it fresh for buyers looking at an entry-level EV.
The Punch EV will likely continue with two battery options. The Medium Range version uses a 25kWh battery that makes 80bhp and 114Nm, with a claimed range of 265km. The Long Range version gets a 35kWh battery with 120bhp and 190Nm, and a claimed range of up to 365km. Both variants are front-wheel drive and built mainly for daily city use.
Since its launch in January 2024, the Punch EV has become a common choice for first-time EV buyers and small families. Its size, price and usable range make it easy to live with in cities. With the Punch EV facelift set for a February 20 launch, Tata looks ready to keep its compact electric SUV in the spotlight.
