Tata Motors has confirmed the launch of the Sierra.ev, Punch.ev facelift and the first Avinya electric SUV in India by CY26. The announcement comes on the back of a major milestone, with Tata.ev crossing 2.5 lakh electric vehicle sales in the country, underlining the brand’s leadership in India’s rapidly growing EV market. Tata has recently introduced the ICE-powered Sierra, and the iconic nameplate will now wear the EV badge for the first time.
It will be joined by the updated Punch.ev, which has been one of the brand’s best-selling electric micro-SUVs. Towards the end of CY26, Tata will also introduce the Avinya range of premium luxury EVs, marking its entry into a more upscale segment. Looking ahead, Tata plans to roll out five new EV nameplates by FY30, supported by regular updates across its portfolio. Here's a quick look at the upcoming Tata electric cars in India by CY2026.
Although Tata Motors has not announced a fixed launch timeline, the electric Sierra is expected to go on sale in India in March 2026. Visually, the Sierra EV will maintain its familiar silhouette, as hinted by early teasers, while incorporating EV-specific cues, most notably a revised front end, to differentiate it. The ICE Sierra is currently priced from Rs 11.49 lakh, and the electric version is expected to command a premium, starting at around Rs 15 lakh. It is likely to be offered with 55kWh and 65kWh battery options, sourced from Tata’s existing EV lineup (Curvv and Harrier).
The standard variants are expected to come with front-wheel drive, while the top-end trims may offer a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and a range exceeding 500 kilometres.
Tata will give a mid-cycle refresh to the Punch EV in 2026, which currently starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While official details are yet to be confirmed, the update is expected to target cosmetic, technological, and performance aspects of the micro-SUV. The Punch EV may receive new exterior colours and updated interior trims, along with a freestanding touchscreen with slimmer bezels.
Tata is also likely to equip the electric SUV with an upgraded audio system to improve the in-cabin experience. The upcoming EV is expected to feature subtle powertrain improvements while introducing more accessible entry-level variants, with prices potentially starting at Rs 6 lakh. By combining these lower-priced options with refreshed designs, the carmaker could further boost the appeal of the electric Punch in the market.

The Avinya sub-brand will represent Tata’s high-end electric vehicle offerings. There’s no official information yet on the first car in Tata’s luxury Avinya range; however, the company unveiled the Avinya X EV Concept, offering a glimpse of its vision for premium electric mobility.
