At its 2025 Investors Day, Tata Motors confirmed that the new Tata Sierra SUV will launch in the second half of FY 2026. While the exact date isn't announced yet, more details are expected to be revealed closer to the launch. Tata will offer the Sierra in both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. Although there’s no official timeline yet, the EV is expected to launch first, followed by the ICE version, which was showcased in near-production form at this year’s Auto Expo. The new Sierra blends heritage with innovation through a bold redesign. The new Sierra keeps signature cues like the curved rear windows and muscular wheel arches, but adds a sharper roofline, a more upright posture, and compact overhangs. It ditches rectangular halogen headlights and a traditional grille for sleek LED headlights and a modern grille finished in glossy black.
Other highlights include Integrated LED DRLs, the prominent Sierra lettering, and the Tata emblem, flush-fitting door handles, vertically-stacked LED fog lamps, and sleek alloy wheels. The SUV now also has a cleaner, more refined profile. It also gets a more upright tailgate, integrated LED light bar, roof-mounted spoiler, and a 'Sierra' lettering at the rear.
Although not officially confirmed, the new Tata Sierra is anticipated to boast a cutting-edge interior packed with modern tech. It’s likely to be offered in various interior colour themes tailored to different variants.

Key highlights may include a trio of 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting, and a distinctive four-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo. Buyers might also get the flexibility to choose between 4- and 5-seat layouts.
For now, there is no official confirmation on the powertrain of the Tata Sierra. Industry reports, however, suggest that the SUV could get the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit (168bhp/280Nm), and a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine with 168bhp/350Nm (also found in the Harrier and Safari). Both powertrains will likely be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
