Tesla's Model S Plaid flagship sedan now has a new performance package that allows it to reach a top speed of 322km/h. The performance package, officially known as the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package, is targeted at enthusiasts who want to get more out of their Model S Plaid. The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package is available in addition to software upgrades that improve the performance of the electric vehicle. In totality, the electric car will perform better on the track and on regular roads thanks to the Track Package.

Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package: Price and Components

Tesla claims that the Model S Plaid Track Package will go on sale in June of this year, with prices ranging from $15,000 to $20,000 depending on the options the owner chooses. The kit comes with upgraded carbon silicon carbide rotors, a set of forged aluminium wheels, track-specific tyres, brake fluid, and one-piece forged callipers with high-performance pads.

According to Tesla, the Model S Plaid Track Package will cost $20,000 when the Zero-G wheels and specialised tyres are added. The cost of the carbon ceramic brake kit and brake fluid alone is $15,000. Customers do have the choice to buy the Zero-G wheels and Goodyear tyres separately for $6,000, which represents a savings of about $1,000 over buying the whole kit.

The Model S Plaid Track Package was first teased by the Elon Musk-owned automaker in a brief Twitter video, and it was later made available on their official online accessories store. The manufacturer released the upgraded brake kit as an optional add-on with a price tag of $20,000 in November 2021. The most recent update, however, reduces the price by $5,000. Additionally, according to Tesla, the ceramic brakes can be used with either the 20-inch Zero-G wheels or the 21-inch Arachnid wheels but not the 19-inch Tempest wheels.

Tesla Model S and Model X Not Available in Some Asia-Pacific Countries

The Tesla Model S and Model X electric vehicles are not yet available for purchase in some Asia-Pacific countries. The websites of the automobile manufacturer in Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand indicate that the model is not available in those countries. At the same time, other EV giant models, such as the Model 3 and Model Y, are available, according to the website. It should be noted that the reason for the models' unavailability is unknown at this time. The details came out at the same time that Elon Musk's electric vehicle manufacturer reported record deliveries from January through March, but a 38 per cent decrease in the number of more expensive Model X and Model S deliveries.

The manufacturer of electric vehicles is currently making news for drastically lowering the cost of its cars. Additionally, Tesla has had to deal with legal actions brought against the in-car autopilot system.
