Tata sold 19,430 Nexons last month, compared to 15,349 in February 2025. This shows a year-on-year growth of 26.59%, with a volume increase of 4,081 units. The SUV continues to attract buyers with its strong safety credentials, practical design, and multiple powertrain options, including electric.

The Tata SUV was closely followed by the popular sedan from Maruti Suzuki, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which sold 19,326 units in February 2026, up from 14,694 units during the same month last year. This translates to a healthy 31.52% YoY growth, with 4,632 additional units sold.

The Dzire continues to remain a popular choice among compact sedan buyers for its good resale value and affordable ownership costs.

The Tata Punch (including the EV variant) ranked third on the list with 18,748 units sold, compared to 14,559 units in February of last year. This highlights a 28.77% growth, with a difference of 4,189 units year-on-year. Positioned as a micro SUV, the Punch has gained immense popularity due to its rugged design and strong safety credentials.

The Hyundai Creta secured the fourth spot with 17,938 units sold last month, compared to 16,317 units in February 2025. This represents a 9.935 increase year-on-year. As one of the most established names in the midsize SUV category, the Creta continues to maintain its appeal with its feature-rich cabin, multiple engine options, and strong brand value.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which recorded sales of 17,863 units, rounded off the list of the top 5 best-selling cars in India in February 2026. Compared to 15,392 units in February last year, this was a 16.05% growth, translating to 2,471 units additionally sold. The Brezza continues to maintain a strong presence in the compact SUV segment thanks to its reliable engine, practicality, and Maruti Suzuki’s extensive dealership and service network.
