The Hyundai Creta was the best-selling SUV and the overall top-selling car in June 2025, despite a YoY drop of 3.11%. It was followed by the Maruti Suzuki Brezza on this list, which sold 14,507 units.

The Hyundai Creta emerged as the best-selling SUV in June 2025, despite a year-on-year decline of 3.11%. It also became the best-selling car overall, surpassing the Dzire, which held the top spot in May 2025. Since its launch in a refreshed avatar and the addition of an electric variant, the Creta has consistently captured market attention. Its strong market presence has helped it secure the title of India's best-selling car three times this year: March, April, and June. Let's take a closer look at the performance of the top 5 best-selling SUVs in June 2025.
The SUV sold 15,786 units last month, slightly less than the 16,293 units sold in the same month last year. However, compared to 14,860 sold in May, the mid-size SUV experienced a MoM growth of 6%. The Hyundai Creta offers both ICE and Electric powertrain options. The ICE-powered Creta offers three options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 113bhp and 144Nm, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 158bhp and 253Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit with 114bhp and 250Nm. The transmission options are a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission).
The all-electric Creta comes with two battery pack options. The entry-level 42kWh version delivers 133bhp, while the more powerful 51.4kWh version boosts output to 169bhp.

The Brezza sold the highest after the Creta in June 2025, with 14,507 units. This was a 10.14% increase from 13,172 units sold in June of last year. Compared to May, when 15,566 units were sold, the Brezza experienced a month-on-month decline of 7%.

The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that produces 102bhp and 136.8Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. It features a smart hybrid system with idle stop-start, brake energy regeneration, and torque assist. A CNG variant is also available.

The Scorpio was the third best-selling SUV and seventh highest-selling car last month. It experienced a YoY increase of 3.52%, with 12,740 units sold. However, on a month-on-month basis, the SUV witnessed a noticeable decline of 12%. For reference, Mahindra sold 14,401 units of Scorpio in May this year. The Scorpio Classic packs a 2.2-litre diesel engine, while the Scorpio-N comes with two engine options (a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol).

Despite a YoY drop of 3.85%, the Tata Nexon secured its position as the fourth best-selling SUV on the list. It sold 11,602 units, compared to 12,066 units in June 2024. With 13,096 units sold in the month of May 2025, the Tata SUV recorded a MoM decrease of 11%. The Nexon ICE comes with two engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. Meanwhile, the Nexon EV can be had with either a 30kWh or 45kWh battery pack.

The Punch SUV sold 10,446 units in June, representing a decline of 42.72% year-on-year. With 13,133 units sold in May this year, the Tata car recorded a month-on-month decline of 20%.

The ICE-powered SUV is available with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the electrified model offers a choice between two battery packs (25kWh and 35kWh).
