Toyota is making headlines at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show with the debut of the new Corolla Concept. It is no secret that the Corolla has been one of the brand's most popular and best-selling nameplates, evolving over the years through hatchbacks, sedans, wagons, and coupes.
The new concept aims to carry that legacy forward with a shift in design philosophy. For now, Toyota has only shown the concept, and a production model is expected to arrive by late 2026 or early 2027. Let's take a closer look at the new Toyota Corolla Concept.

The new concept marks a notable design upgrade over other Corollas. It takes design cues from Toyota’s bZ series and Prius, and offers a fresh and modern look to the nameplate. There's a full-width LED light bar at the front (divided into separate parts or sections in the centre), flanked by L-shaped LEDs.

The bonnet has a sculpted design, and the front fenders are elevated, giving the concept a sportier vibe. Other prominent highlights include a coupe-like roof, traditional wing mirrors, cuts and creases on the side, alloy wheels, a ducktail spoiler, and a rear LED light bar.

The concept looks both futuristic and practical from the inside. The digital cluster is mounted on the steering column, flanked by panels with touch-sensitive controls. There's no large infotainment screen, and the front passenger gets a dedicated display. Other details include a crystal-like gear selector and a three-spoke steering wheel.

Toyota has not disclosed details about the powertrain. However, the concept's some features, including a small flap on the front fender, hint that it’s likely an electric car.
Toyota has reimagined the Century, positioning it as a standalone luxury brand aimed at competing with Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Alongside the Corolla Concept, the Japanese brand unveiled the Century Coupe Concept, featuring striking design elements such as an elongated bonnet, vented top, body-coloured grille, asymmetrical doors, a sweeping roofline, massive multi-spoke alloy wheels, and the phoenix emblem, and bold 'Century' lettering at the rear.
Inside, the four-seat cabin features a lounge-style passenger area, a translucent driver partition, and an aircraft-inspired yoke steering wheel surrounded by three integrated screens. For more details, you can check the full story here.
