Toyota Glanza CNG launch slated for November

It is anticipated that the Glanza CNG may be priced between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹10.5 lakh (ex-showroom), with offline bookings already taking place at several dealerships.

Toyota is all set to launch the CNG-powered Glanza hatchback this month. In fact, a few dealerships across India have commenced offline bookings for the Toyota Glanza CNG. The upcoming car will be the first vehicle from the Japanese carmaker in the country to come with a factory-installed CNG kit. The CNG-equipped Glanza is expected to come in three trim levels: S, G, and V.

A 1.2-litre petrol engine with a factory-installed CNG kit will be standard on the Toyota Glanza CNG. The powertrain generates 98.5Nm at 4,300rpm and 76.4bhp at 6,000 rpm while operating on CNG. The power and torque are decreased by around 11.8bhp and 14.5Nm when compared to the petrol counterpart. A 5-speed manual gearbox is mated to it. The Toyota Glanza powered by CNG will have a fuel efficiency of 30.61 km/kg, just like the Baleno CNG.

For the CNG variant, there won't be any feature modifications. Its cost-saving advantages come at the customary expense of its boot area, which will now be occupied by the CNG cylinder. The top-spec Toyota Glanza features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology with 40+ features, adjustable air conditioning, a head-up display, cruise control, and keyless entry with a push button start. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and hill start assist are also included with this model.

A CNG variant typically costs around ₹1 lakh more than its equivalent petrol-manual version. It is anticipated that the Glanza CNG may be priced between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹10.5 lakh (ex-showroom), with offline bookings already taking place at several dealerships.
