Toyota has launched a new variant of the Innova Hycross in India. Called the GX (O), it comes in seven- and eight-seat configurations. Price-wise, the former is available at Rs 21.13 lakh, whereas the latter carries a sticker price of Rs 20.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). In comparison to the GX variant, the new GX (O) offers a slew of additional features, such as a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, wireless Apple CarPlay, front LED fog lamps, automatic climate control with an auto blower, and a rear defogger. The interior features a chestnut theme, soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels, and a rear sunshade.
Notably, the eight-seat version of the Innova Hycross GX (O) lacks the 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a rear sunshade, and, therefore, is priced lower than the seven-seater model. On the safety front, the Toyota Innova Hycross GX (O) comes with an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The new, non-hybrid variant of the Innova Hycross can be had in seven exterior colour options – Blackish Ageha Glass Flake, Platinum White Pearl, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Super White, and Avant Garde Bronze Metallic.
Powering the Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O) is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission and churns out 172bhp and 205Nm of peak torque. According to Toyota, the GX (O) has a fuel efficiency of 16.13km/l.
With the introduction of the new GX(O), the Innova Hycross now comes in a total of 8 trims and 12 variants. In the lineup, it slots between the petrol-only GX grade and the powerful hybrid VX trim levels. Bookings for the new variant have already begun, and deliveries are expected to commence on April 15.
Launched in November 2022, the Toyota Innova Hycross ranges from Rs 18.92 lakh to Rs 30.98 lakh (ex-showroom, India). In February 2024, the MPV surpassed the 50,000-unit sales mark in the country in about 15 months after its launch. Built on the latest Toyota Global Architecture (TNGA), the Hycross uses a monocoque chassis rather than a body-on-frame structure.
With two powertrain options and seven- and eight-seat configurations, the MPV offers a premium alternative to popular models like the Kia Carens and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
