Bookings for the Toyota Innova Hycross will commence today for an amount of ₹50,000, and by mid-January 2023, dealerships will begin receiving the hybrid MPV.

Toyota has finally unveiled the much-awaited India-spec Toyota Innova Hycross; while the cost of the MPV hasn't been made public yet, we expect it to be more than that of the Innova Crysta. The model is the third generation of the Toyota Innova, which was launched 17 years ago in India.

The Innova Hycross will be available in two powertrain options – a petrol-only engine and a petrol-hybrid system. Both vehicles will be available only with automatic transmissions. The TNGA 2.0-litre gasoline engine will produce 171bhp, and the 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid engine will generate 183bhp. The MPV will use the 5th generation Hybrid system from Toyota, along with the Self-charging hybrid technology. The Innova Hycross will be available in a total of five variants and is based on a monocoque platform, thanks to which, it weighs 200kgs less than the Innova Crysta. Additionally, it will be available in 7- and 8-seat configurations.

The powerful hybrid engine in the Innova Hycross offers a range of 1,097km on a full tank of fuel and a fuel efficiency of 21.1km/l. It can go from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds.

The new Innova Hycross has a more SUV-like design, along with a wider redesigned grille up front and sharper LED headlamps on either side. It gets 18-inch wheels with a fresh design and a rugged-looking front bumper. The model has got new wraparound LED taillights at the back.

The new model comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 9-speaker JBL music system, powered ottoman seats in the second row, mood lighting, a powered tailgate, and more.

In terms of size, the MPV is larger than its predecessor – it's 20mm wider and longer and has a 100mm longer wheelbase.

On the safety front, it's equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense suite of features. It also comes with ADAS and many more safety features, including automatic high beams, lane change assistance, blind spot monitoring, six airbags, and an electronic parking brake.
