Mahindra has confirmed that the facelifted XUV700 will go by the name XUV 7XO in India, following the same rebranding strategy used for the XUV 3XO.

Mahindra has confirmed that the facelifted XUV700 will go by the name XUV 7XO in India, following the same rebranding strategy used for the . The SUV will make its debut on January 5, 2026, showcasing significant updates both inside and out, likely including redesigned headlamps, a new grille, and refreshed bumpers.
Although it is too early to comment on price, we expect the new XUV700, rebranded as the XUV 7XO, to fetch a significant premium over the outgoing model, currently priced from Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 23.76 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). That said, the SUV will continue to face competition from the same models, including the Mahindra Scorpio-N, the Hyundai Alcazar, the Tata Safari, and the MG Hector Plus. The updated XUV700 is still under wraps, but several previous spy shots suggest some notable changes. The front could get a redesigned grille and refreshed twin-pod LED headlamps, while the side and rear are expected to stay mostly the same, including the alloy wheels, flush handles, and taillights.
The interior of the XUV 7XO facelift is likely to undergo a major overhaul with a triple-display layout on the dashboard. It is also likely to come equipped with an additional wireless phone charger and rear ventilated seats. Beyond these additions, the SUV is expected to retain all the popular amenities of the current XUV700. These include dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory function.

In terms of safety, the SUV will continue to feature a tyre pressure monitoring system, 7 airbags (6 as standard), an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The XUV700 facelift is likely to retain the same engine and transmission options as the outgoing model. The lineup includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 197bhp of power and 380Nm, and a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, as well as a 2.2-litre diesel unit with 153bhp and 360Nm (FWD) or a more powerful 182bhp, 450Nm version available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive, and mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
