The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, a cutting-edge concept vehicle from the German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, has been showcased in India at the NMACC (Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre) in Mumbai. It will continue to remain on display here for the next couple of months. The concept made its debut in 2016 at Pebble Beach in California, after which it made an appearance in various global auto shows and exhibitions. The Maybach 6 is an all-electric aero coupe with a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from other high-end vehicles we have come across in the past. The classic visual proportions of the 1930s Maybach aero coupe serve as inspiration for the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 electrified concept. The automaker also announced a collaboration with NMACC to provide auto enthusiasts with premium experiences that include sneak peeks at upcoming Mercedes concepts, starting with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Electric Concept: Exterior Design

The 2+2 premium concept reintroduces a number of iconic Maybach design elements with slight tweaks, like the eye-catching chrome grille on the front bumper, which is based on earlier Maybach models. The sizable bumper features eye-catching thin-lined LED headlamps and a strongly curved lower part with air ducts, which supply cool air to the front brakes. The design also has gullwing doors, which swing up from the roof.

The car's rear end features a boat-tail design to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The rear also has an integrated diffuser, vertical air ducts to pull air from the rear tyre arches, a small rear window, a steep boot line, narrow, horizontally mounted LED taillights, and narrow LED taillights. A 24-inch set of wheels with body-coloured aero covers is also included in the Vision Maybach 6.

The concept vehicle’s cabin stands out in many aspects. Given that the entire interior is a wraparound cockpit with a sizable glass surface, the automaker refers to it as the 360-degree lounge. The centre console of the front dashboard has LED components and is quite straightforward. There are no touchscreens in the Maybach 6 other than the two circular dials behind the steering wheel. This is because of the fact that the whole windscreen is used to display information about the driver and the vehicle's location. The car uses gestures instead of standard buttons for various functions.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 can go from 0 to 100km/h in less than four seconds. Furthermore, it has an electronically capped top speed of 250km/h. According to the manufacturer, the concept vehicle has an NEDC claimed range of 500 kilometres on a single charge.
