Volkswagen launches the Polo GT TDI

Volkswagen today announced the launch of the powerful and efficient New Polo GT TDI. The company had already catered to the petrolheads by launching the Polo GT TSI and now Volkswagen wants to bring the same oomph! to the diesel vehicle buying customers.

This hot hatch gets the 1.6 L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which produces 104bhp and 250Nm of torque. This makes the New Polo GT TDI the most powerful diesel hatchback in its segment and VW claims that the Polo TDI offers an ARAI-certified 19.78 kmpl of fuel efficiency. Volkswagen has priced the GT TDI at Rs. 8.08 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi)

Commenting on the launch of the New Polo GT TDI, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd said “The New Polo GT TDI has been created to cater to the requirements of discerning customers, who want the best possible mix of strong power delivery, outstanding driving dynamics and class-leading fuel efficiency.”

Sales of the Polo GT TDI will commence from September 13, 2013.
