Ather Energy has announced a significant milestone of over 5,000 public fast chargers across India. The network covers more than 395 cities, comprising 3,675 chargers operated by Ather and over 1,400 installed through partner collaborations. It is spread across metros, tier 2 and tier 3 cities, and key intercity routes. Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai each have over 100 LECCS chargers, while Bengaluru leads with more than 240 chargers.
States-wise, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Gujarat rank highest in public fast charger availability. Meanwhile, non-metro cities, such as Nashik, Malappuram, and Indore, have surpassed 45 public fast chargers, while Kozhikode and Coimbatore have crossed the 65-charger mark.
Speaking on the announcement, Ravneet Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said 'Charging infrastructure is a critical enabler of EV adoption, and as we continue to grow, expanding this network remains a key focus for us. Over the last seven years, we’ve invested steadily in building charging not just across cities and towns, but increasingly along highways and intercity corridors, so riders can plan longer journeys with confidence. With access to over 5,000 fast chargers today, Ather owners can ride knowing they can easily top up wherever they go, whether it’s a daily commute or an intercity trip.
He further added, 'In addition to expanding the network, we’ve also continued to improve the charging experience itself, most recently with the launch of a new fast charger. This is another step towards making the ownership experience more seamless, predictable, and convenient.'

Ather developed a dedicated charging connector for electric two- and three-wheelers to address the need for faster and more compatible charging. In 2021, Ather opened up the connector’s intellectual property, enabling the creation of a shared fast-charging ecosystem for two-wheelers. The LECCS connector later received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards and was officially notified as an Indian Standard between 2023 and 2024. Today, LECCS has been adopted by several OEMs such as Hero Vida and Matter, along with charging operators like Bolt, Kazam, and EVamp. With Ather Grid chargers also listed on Google Maps, riders can easily find and use compatible chargers.
