Ather Energy has announced that its family-centric electric scooter, the Rizta, has surpassed one lakh unit sales within a year of launch. Unveiled at Ather Community Day in April 2024 and launched in June, the Rizta caters to a broader, family-focused market segment. Its strong reception has not only widened Ather’s consumer base but also helped the brand gain significant traction in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Odisha. The Rizta now contributes nearly 60% of Ather's total sales. Its success stems from a compelling mix of everyday practicality, comfort, and smart features. Alongside the Ather 450 series, the Rizta has propelled Ather to the top spot in South India's EV market in Q4 FY25, according to Vahan data.
Commenting on this milestone, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, 'Hitting the 1 lakh milestone with the Rizta is a big moment for us. The Rizta, which was built from the ground up with a focus on addressing the needs of Indian families, has played a key role in expanding our reach and connecting with a much wider set of customers.'

He also added, 'It combines practically everything a family scooter needs: a spacious and comfortable seat, ample storage, safety features, and reliability to make every day commuting effortless; all that packaged in great design that Ather has come to be known for. In less than a year since its launch, the Rizta has helped us grow our market share significantly across multiple states, broadened our consumer profile, and accelerated adoption in states where our presence was earlier limited.'
The Ather Rizta is available in two main variants — the S and the Z — catering to a range of user needs. The S comes equipped with a 2.9kWh battery, while the Z offers more flexibility with a choice between a 2.9kWh and a larger 3.7kWh battery pack. On paper, the smaller battery delivers an IDC-rated range of 123 km, while the larger one extends that to 159 kilometres. In real-world riding conditions, those numbers translate to approximately 105 kilometres and 125 kilometres, respectively. Both battery packs are IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, and are paired with a mid-mounted motor that delivers 5.76bhp and 22Nm of torque. The Rizta tops out at a speed of 80km/h, balancing performance with practicality for daily commuting.
