BMW Motorrad has hit a new milestone in India by selling over 1,000 units of its flagship superbike, the S 1000 RR. First launched in 2009, the bike helped BMW carve out a name in the high-performance segment. This year, the updated 2025 version made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo with a price tag of Rs 21.10 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing along key changes that make it even more track-ready.

One of the biggest updates is to the bike’s aerodynamics. The 2025 S 1000 RR now gets redesigned winglets that generate between 17.1 kg and 23.1 kg of downforce, improving grip and stability at high speeds. BMW has also added brake cooling ducts and tweaked the lower triple clamp to help riders push harder into corners. A taller windscreen improves wind protection for long rides or fast straights.
The S 1000 RR is powered by a 999 cc inline-four engine, packing 206 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The bike features multiple riding modes like Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race, along with three extra Pro modes. These add Hill-Start Control Pro, making steep starts a little easier and adding to everyday usability.

For track enthusiasts, BMW has added a short-stroke M throttle that delivers quicker acceleration. With revised aerodynamics and better cooling for the brakes, the bike is built to handle the pressure of serious riding. These changes make the new S 1000 RR a strong option for riders looking for performance and precision.
