The FASTag-based Annual Pass, announced in June by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, is now officially available for purchase at Rs 3,000. It currently applies to private vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans, and has eligibility of a year or 200 toll trips, whichever comes first. It's important to keep in mind that each toll booth crossing is counted as a single trip. For daily commuters, the FasTag Annual Pass is a practical solution that streamlines travelling on highways. It eliminates the need to frequently top up the FasTag, which results in saving both money and time for users. Here's a comprehensive overview of the price, benefits, and subscription process of the FASTag-based Annual Pass.
The FASTag Annual Pass is priced at Rs 3,000, which can be paid either through standard online methods like UPI, credit cards, or net banking. It is available only for non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans, and can be used exclusively on toll plazas located along National Highways and National Expressways. Buyers get up to 200 trips or a full year of toll access from a one-time prepaid payment, whichever limit is reached first.

A trip is counted differently based on the tolling system. For instance, each pass through a point-based toll counts as one trip, meaning a round trip would be two separate trips. Meanwhile, a full entry and exit is counted as a single trip at closed-toll systems. Once the validity or trip limit expires, the pass can be recharged just like a standard FASTag.
For daily travellers on highways, the FASTag Annual Pass offers significant cost-saving benefits. Priced at Rs 3,000, it covers up to 200 toll crossings on national highways and expressways—bringing the average cost per trip down to just Rs 15. In comparison, regular toll charges typically range between Rs 50 and Rs 100 per journey. This makes the pass a highly economical option for daily commuters. According to reports, a frequent commuter could save up to Rs 7,000 annually by switching to the FASTag Annual plan.
Another benefit of the FASTag Annual Pass is its ability to simplify travel by offering year-long or 200-trip validity, reducing recharge hassles, and easing congestion.
The FASTag Annual Pass works with your existing, active FASTag. So, there's no new device or registration needed as long as the FASTag is linked to a valid VRN and not blacklisted.
The pass is non-transferable and is tied to the specific vehicle, ensuring its intended use and preventing misuse.
Signing up for the FASTag Annual Pass is quick and hassle-free, thanks to a fully digital process. Here's how interested buyers can subscribe to the pass.
