Honda 2W Records 42% Year-on-Year Total Sales Growth in January, Sells Over 4.19 Lakh Units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) witnessed an impressive increase in both domestic and international sales last month. It sold a total of 4,19,395 units in January 2024, marking a significant year-on-year rise of 42% over the 2,96,363 vehicles sold in the same month the previous year. Out of this total figure, the company delivered 3,82,512 vehicles in the domestic market, showing an increase of 38% from the 2,78,143 units supplied in January 2023. In the export segment, the company reported selling 36,883 units, which indicates a 102.43% increase over the 18,220 units shipped at the same time last year.

With the thrilling introduction of the Honda NX500, which retails for Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the company kicked off the new year. Prospective buyers should note that pre-orders for the bike will open in February and it is available through the company's BigWing dealerships. The bike has a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with a slip-and-assist clutch in addition to a 6-speed transmission. HMSI January 2024 Sales: What's More?

Honda's 2W sales rose 32.25% to 4,19,395 units from December 2023, when the firm delivered 3,17,123 vehicles overall. From 2,86,101 units to 3,82,512 units in the domestic market, its shipments increased by 33.70% on an MoM basis. Additionally, from 31,022 units sent in December 2023, the exports climbed by 18.89%.

HMSI December 2023 Sales: A Quick Recap

In comparison to the 2,50,171 units sold in December 2022, HMSI sold a total of 3,17,123 units in December 2023, a 27% year-over-year increase. The local sales of the firm grew by 22.71% to 2,86,101 units in December of last year from 2,33,151 units sold during the same month in 2022. Apart from this, compared to the 17,020 units exported abroad in the same month in 2022, the international shipments saw a significant increase of 82.27% to 31,022 units.
