Hyryder, Innova Hycross & More Help Toyota India Record Best-ever Monthly Sales, Sells 20,410 Units in May

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) claimed its biggest monthly sales ever in May 2023. It sold 20,410 units last month, up from the 10,216 units sold the same time the previous year, representing a YoY growth of 110%.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) disclosed its sales data for May 2023. The carmaker reported its highest-ever monthly sales in the past month. It sold 20,410 units in May 2023, which is up from 10,216 sold during the same time last year, registering a YoY growth of 110%. Domestically, the firm announced dispatching 19,379 units the previous month. Also, in the same period, it disclosed selling 1,013 vehicles in the overseas market. According to the carmaker, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, and more models contributed to the whopping sales figure. Aside from this, Toyota Kirloskar India sold a total of 82,763 vehicles from January to May of the 2023 calendar year, according to their year-to-date sales figures. The company experienced a year-over-year rise of 42%, compared to the 58,505 units sold during the same time in 2022. Let's have a closer look at what the company has to say about this achievement.

Toyota Sales May 2023: What the company has to Say?

Mr. Atul Sood, Vice President of Sales and Strategic Marketing at TKM, said ''To be optimistic for the rest of the year by prioritizing the customers’ needs''. He further added ''As a customer-centric company, we always strive to understand and exceed the expectations of our valued customers by continuing to implement diverse measures to take care of their needs and offer products that excel in quality, reliability, and durability. In-line with this approach, we recently enhanced our production by implementing the third-shift of operations at our Bidadi plant from May 2023 which has greatly contributed to addressing the market’s needs. Apart from the reduction of the waiting period for delivery, this measure will also further allow us to contribute to the nation's 'Make in India' mission and generate additional employment opportunities in the region.'' 

Toyota Hilux, Fortuner Mild Hybrid Variants to Come in 2024?

According to Toyota South Africa, Mild hybrid versions of the Toyota Hilux and Fortuner will be available next year. These models, offering mild hybrid power, are anticipated to make their international debut. There aren't many specifics available right now about these revamped pick-up and SUV models, but various speculations are making the rounds online that the Fortuner and the Hilux will most likely get a new platform in 2024.

For the uninitiated, the IMV platform serves as the foundation for the current models. The new TNGA-F platform, which also supports the Land Cruiser 300 and the Lexus LX500d, is expected to take the place of this architecture. According to reports, international markets will be the first to sell these mild hybrid variations. These models are anticipated to come later in India.
