Hyundai and Skoda Partner to Accelerate Hydrogen Mobility and Energy Efficient Solutions

Hyundai Skoda Partnership

Hyundai Motor Company and Skoda Auto have joined forces to drive the future of hydrogen mobility and energy-efficient solutions. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the development and deployment of hydrogen-powered vehicles and innovative energy technologies. By combining Hyundai's expertise in hydrogen fuel cell systems with Skoda's engineering capabilities, the collaboration seeks to promote sustainable transportation and reduce carbon emissions across the automotive industry. Both companies will work on advancing hydrogen infrastructure and energy-efficient solutions, fostering a greener, more environmentally friendly future. This alliance underscores their commitment to addressing global energy challenges and advancing alternative energy sources.

Hyundai-Skoda Partnership

Hyundai and Skoda have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on building a hydrogen mobility ecosystem. The MoU was signed during the Korea-Czech Republic Business Summit in Prague on September 20. Key figures in attendance included Ken Ramirez, Hyundai's executive vice president and head of the Global Commercial Vehicle and Hydrogen Business, and Petr Novotny, CEO of Skoda Group.

The partnership focuses on conducting studies related to the integration of hydrogen fuel cell systems and energy-efficient technologies in mobility projects and products, while also exploring hydrogen ecosystem and value chain opportunities beyond the mobility sector. Both Hyundai and Skoda view hydrogen as a critical component for building a sustainable future, particularly in transportation. As part of the agreement, Hyundai may share its advanced fuel cell systems and technology, helping to accelerate the global shift toward eco-friendly transportation. Additionally, the two companies will explore the feasibility of using fuel cell systems for a range of applications beyond mobility, expanding the potential of hydrogen as a versatile energy solution.

Ken Ramírez, Executive Vice President and Head of the Global Commercial Vehicle and Hydrogen Business, at Hyundai Motor Company, said, 'Our partnership with Skoda Group aims to accelerate hydrogen adoption, which would contribute to the advancement of hydrogen technology and carbon neutrality across global markets, including the Czech Republic. Together with Skoda Group, we strive to lead the rapidly growing hydrogen businesses by creating positive synergies between our fuel cell technology and Skoda Group’s mobility products and projects.'

Petr Novotný, CEO, of Skoda Group, stated, 'We believe that hydrogen, alongside energy-efficient solutions, will play an essential role in transforming mobility for a more sustainable future. Our collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company aims to enable us to look beyond national borders and explore wider markets where these technologies can have a larger impact. By working together, we can bring innovative, eco-friendly solutions to the global mobility ecosystem, advancing cleaner energy in the areas where it's needed most.'
