Hyundai has announced that its premium digital key feature, currently offered on select variants of the Alcazar and the Creta Electric, is witnessing strong demand, with an enrolment rate of 33%. Of the users, 68% access the feature through iOS devices, while 32% use Android. The rising adoption of the smart feature highlights a strong shift towards convenient and tech-driven mobility solutions. It enhances the ownership experience and adds a layer of everyday convenience for Hyundai customers. Commenting on the rapidly growing acceptance of this feature, Unsoo Kim, Managing Director - HMIL, said: 'At Hyundai Motor India, innovation is driven by purpose, offering meaningful solutions that elevate customer experience.'

Hyundai's Digital Key feature debuted with the Alcazar in September 2024 and was later introduced in the Creta Electric in January 2025. It is powered by NFC (Near Field Communication) technology and allows users to generate a secure virtual key through the Hyundai Bluelink app, which can be stored on a compatible smartphone, smartwatch, or a dedicated NFC card (available as an accessory). Once configured, the Digital Key enables users to lock or unlock the vehicle by tapping their device on the door handle, and start the engine by placing it on the wireless charging pad.

Users can share their Digital Key safely with up to three people or seven devices. They can also cancel access anytime to stay in control. Hyundai reveals that 35% of users already share their key access, which highlights the feature's real-world relevance.
