After launching the Exter SUV in the country at a price tag of Rs 5.99 (ex-showroom), the South Korean automaker Hyundai is definitely creating stir in the automotive market. Thanks in large part to its aggressive style and cutting-edge technologies at a reasonable price, the micro-SUV has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from buyers. Furthermore, the four-wheeler's waiting period has now been extended by up to three months. Following its official launch on July 10, the waiting period status completely changed, and an unexpectedly high number of reservations were received. According to information provided by the firm, the latest product from the house of Hyundai presently receives 1,800 pre-bookings on average each day. The company also noted that the numbers are significantly increasing. In addition, the carmaker reported that orders for the yearly petrol version were at 40 per cent, the AMT at 38 per cent, and the CNG at 22 per cent. The waiting duration varies based on the version as well as the authorised dealerships. As of now, the maximum waiting period for Exter's manual and CNG models is 7 to 8 weeks. The AT variation, meanwhile, demands a waiting period of up to 12 weeks or 3 months.

Hyundai Exter: Engine, Transmission and Mileage

Regarding its mechanical characteristics, the SUV comes with three different powerplant options.  A 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, 4-cylinder normally aspirated (NA) engine can produce 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113.8Nm at 4,000rpm, whereas a 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel Kappa petrol with CNG option can yield 68bhp of maximum power and 95.2Nm of peak torque. A manual gearbox will be used for the CNG version's transmission, while an AMT automated gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox will be used with the petrol engine. According to ARAI certification, the Exter SUV offers a mileage of 19.4km/l for the manual variant and a 19.2km/l for the automatic variant. With a factory-installed CNG engine, the SUV has a fuel efficiency of 27.1km/kg.

Hyundai Exter: Design

The Exter SUV, which shares a platform with the Grand i10 Nios, has a unique appearance. An H-shaped LED daytime running light, projector headlights, and a black mesh radiator grille give the SUV its frontal appearance. The SUV has black cladding on its sides and features alloy wheels with a diamond-cut pattern. The integrated roof spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, a rear wiper, H-shaped LED taillamps, and a tailboard with a slanted rear glass, on the other hand, define the back end.

There are a total of six monochromatic and three dual-tone paint options for the exterior, including two brand-new and exclusive colour schemes: Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Atlas Black with Abyss Black, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, and Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black. The Exter SUV has the longest wheelbase in its class, measuring 2,450mm in length. It is also the tallest model in its category, being 1,631mm tall. These will ensure that the passengers have extra head and legroom.
