Hyundai India to Increase Prices by up to Rs 25,000 from January 2025

The decision to increase the prices of all models is part of Hyundai's strategy to address rising input and logistics costs, in addition to the adverse exchange rate.

According to an announcement Hyundai Motor India made recently, all of the MY25 cars will carry higher price tags, effective January 1, 2025. The price increase comes in the wake of rising input and logistics costs, as well as the adverse exchange rate. Hyundai India's model range includes the Grand i10 Nios, i20, sportier i20 N Line, Aura, Verna, and the Ioniq 5 EV. The first three are hatchbacks, while the Aura and the Verna make up the company's sedan range. Alongside these, Hyundai offers several SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) such as the Exter, Venue, Creta, Creta N Line, Alcazar, and the Tucson.

Speaking of, the first Hyundai car tested by Bharat NCAP last month is the Tucson, which received a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. As standard, the Hyundai Tucson comes with electronic stability control, ISOFIX mounts for rear seats, three-point seatbelts for all, and six airbags. It also gets Level 2 ADAS, a tyre pressure monitoring system, parking sensors front and rear, and hill hold control. Prices start at Rs 29.02 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai India's Comment on Price Hike

Tarun Garg, Full-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, said, 'At Hyundai Motor India Limited, our endeavour is
always to absorb rising costs to the extent possible, ensuring minimal impact on our customers. However, with the sustained increase in input cost, it has now become imperative to pass on a part of this cost escalation through a minor price adjustment. This price increase will be done across models and the extent of increase will be up to Rs 25000. The price increase will be effective from January 1, 2025, on all MY25 models.'

Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV Revealed for Global Market 

In global news, Hyundai's flagship model for its Ioniq range of electric vehicles, the Ioniq 9, was introduced to the automotive world on November 21, 2024. Riding on the same E-GMP electric platform as the Kia EV9, the three-row Ioniq 9 gets an 'aerosthetic' design language, a curved roofline, luxurious features, ample space, and up to 620km range.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 will initially go on sale in South Korea and the United States in H1 2025 before being made available to European and other markets. The EV will be offered in six- and seven-seat configurations.
