Hyundai Total Sales Dip 6.95% Year-on-Year in July

Hyundai sold 43,973 units in the domestic market in July 2025, representing a decline of 10.28% from 49,013 units sold in the same month last year.

Hyundai Motor India sold 60,073 units overall in July 2025, representing a decline of 6.95% from last year's 64,563 units. Of this total, 43,973 units were sold in the domestic market, showing a sharper 10.28% year-on-year drop from 49,013 units sold in the same month in 2024. Meanwhile, 16,100 units were shipped overseas, an increase of 3.54% from 15,550 units dispatched in July 2024. The company announced that its SUVs recorded the highest demand and accounted for 71.8% of total sales. The Creta SUV remained the best-seller, strengthening its position in the competitive C-segment SUV category.

Commenting on sales, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, said, 'As we celebrate the incredible 10-year journey of Hyundai Creta in India, we are proud to see it setting new benchmarks in comfort, convenience and performance thereby holding on to the best-selling SUV crown in the Mid-SUV segment, every completed year since its launch in 2015.'

He also added, 'In the January-July 2025 period too, Hyundai Creta has further fortified its leadership position amongst SUVs. While the overall auto industry has seen some softness in recent months, we remain optimistic with the onset of the festive season and are fully geared up with robust supply and exciting product offerings. At HMIL, we continue to stay focused on delivering enhanced value and innovation to our customers, and with the upcoming state of the art facility at Talegaon, we are well positioned to adapt to market movements.'

Other Highlights

The Creta SUV, launched on July 21, 2015, marked a significant milestone of completing 10 years in India. It is currently available with both internal combustion engine and all-electric powertrain options. The ICE variant can be had with either a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (113bhp/ 144Nm), or a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit (158bhp/ 253Nm), or a 1.5-litre diesel engine (114bhp/ 250Nm).

The Hyundai Creta Electric comes with two battery options: a 42kWh battery with a range of 390 kilometres, and a 51.4kWh battery with 473 kilometres of range.
