In a recent development, we have got our hands on the current waiting period for the updated Hyundai Verna. In our market, the sedan commands a waiting time of up to 28 to 30 weeks. For safety, the sixth-generation model of the Verna comes standard with six airbags, ABS, and EBD. However, the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) is available only on some models. 2023 Hyundai Verna: Engine & Gearbox
Talking of the powertrain, the 2023 Verna offers two choices: a 1.5-litre petrol naturally-aspirated engine and a 1.5-litre petrol turbo engine. The NA petrol engine generates a maximum power of 113bhp and a peak torque of 144Nm, coupled with a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the turbo-petrol unit produces 158bhp of power and 253Nm of torque. For transmission, both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox are available as options.

Hyundai India Upcoming Launches
In our market, Hyundai is all set to launch the much-anticipated Exter SUV. The SUV will go on sale in the country on July 10. Although the SUV has been officially teased several times ahead of the launch, its test mules kept on appearing on our roads, offering a sneak peek into the model's characteristics. Mechanically, the upcoming Exter will get a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is also available with the Grand i10 Nios. According to market estimations, the all-new SUV may have a starting price of Rs 6 Lakh (ex-showroom).
