Kia announced it registered sales of 27,610 units in February, its highest-ever for the month since entering the Indian market in August 2019. Compared to the 25,026 units sold in February 2025, this translated to a 10.3% year-on-year growth. However, on a month-on-month basis, the company witnessed stable demand, with volumes remaining largely flat compared to the 27,603 units recorded in January 2026.
Kia credited its record performance to robust demand across its SUV and MPV portfolio. The Seltos, now larger and more feature-rich with a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh, led the charge with a strong market response, while the Kia Sonet continued to post consistent volumes in the compact SUV segment. The company also saw healthy traction for the Carens Clavis (ICE) and the Carens Clavis EV, alongside growing demand for the premium Kia Carnival. Kia boasts 849 sales and service touchpoints across 382 cities, and 122 certified pre-owned outlets nationwide.

Commenting on the sales, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, ‘Our record February performance is a testimony to the growing trust of Indian consumers in Kia brand. The strong response across our portfolio — including All-New Seltos, Sonet, and the Clavis line-up highlights our well-thought-out strategy and the agility to adapt with the evolving customer aspirations, including the shift towards electric mobility. We are not merely responding to market trends, but shaping them through innovation, premium design, advanced technology, and a relentless focus on delivering customer value.’
Kia is expected to launch the Syros EV in India in mid-2026, with an estimated starting price tag of around Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). The Syros EV will likely be underpinned by the brand's K1 platform, also found in models like the Hyundai Casper, Inster, and Exter. It is expected to come with two battery options – 42kWh and 49kWh – with an estimated range of up to 355 kilometres. A larger 51.4kWh battery could also be available.
In terms of design, the Syros EV is likely to keep the core design of its ICE-powered sibling, with a few EV-specific design changes, including a closed-off grille and aerodynamic wheels, and a charging port positioned on the front fender. Other possible elements are port-mounted indicators showing charging progress, active air vents for battery cooling, and prominent EV badging.
